I have participated in numerous months of Desmond's Boot Camp Fitness and I love it! I lost about 20 lbs over 5 months time! Losing weight was great, but the best part was how great I felt after a few months of Desmond's Boot Camp workout. I was someone who was overweight and tired and I truly felt like I was simply going to be large for the rest of my life. Getting started was hard for me. I couldn't do a sit up and could barely jog. But even with how hard everything was for me, I kept trying and stayed in the Boot Camp Program. I kept trying even with the medical challenges I was faced with after several months into my journey to become a new me. After about 6 months I struggled with my weight. It was fluctuating abnormally and I started to get dizzy spells and was feeling? nauseous. I went to the doctor and found I have a thyroid problem and high blood pressure. I thought "Great, I've been working so hard and all along my thyroid has been working against me". But I did not let that discourage me. I kept on. After a few months, the doctors finally got my dosage right and I thought "Yes! Now I should begin to have weight just fall off". Nope. I got pregnant. However, I did not let it discourage me. I kept exercising in Desmond's boot camp class. Yes, that's right! I did a boot camp class pregnant! I kept going until I was about 6-7 months along. I simply made modifications as I went along.? Desmond is great at working with your individual needs and allows everyone to go at their own pace while still motivating and pushing you, but YOU are the one who needs to self motivate and keep telling yourself "I can do it". I couldn't do a sit up at first, but now I can do several minutes of abdominal exercises at one time!? Now, I believe I can achieve my long term goals with hard work through diet and exercise and look forward to continuing my journey to the new me!

I finally decided to get off my sofa in July of this year. I was out of shape, had no stamina and lacked the motivation needed to commit to anything long term, but I decided I would give boot camp a try.  It was the best decision I've made in a long time.  I personally feel that i look better and I feel better mentally, physically and emotionally.  Unbelievably I look forward to waking at 4:15am so that I can be there on time to get my "workout on."  I'll be honest though, it's not easy, but the class is not only motivating, but a lot of fun of as well.  There are still a lot of things that I can't do and give out during the workouts…a lot, but the thing I love about Coach (as I affectionately call him) is that he doesn't give up on you and he doesn't take excuses.  He's a true motivator and you believe you can give him "one more" because he believes that you can.

"First day of class with Desmond, can be described as Pushing it to your Limits! I came in thinking that it would be an easy cardiovascular class. Boy was I wrong!!! His class is a High Intensity Interval Training class, action packed with all the necessary exercises that concentrates on both upper body and lower body muscles, not to mention a constant core workout. Running out of breath by the end of the first 5 minutes is expected, which is what you want in order to keep that heart rate up!! Calorie burning efficiently and effectively! Plus Desmond is a wonderful instructor, no fuss, no over the top cheers, just the perfect "Give me one more" that gets you to do exactly just that! I will most certainly keep attending and also looking forward to a more personal training experience! Thank you Desmond!!
